And the sun has finally come out!!!

Well, after all the slightly (!) damp weather of recent weeks , isn’t it a delight to see the sunshine making an appearance? Daffodils, hyacinths and all manner of spring flowers are showing off their colours and I hope it is giving you all a spring in your step. No doubt the garden is calling all of you that are keen gardeners-I’ll see you when it rains again!!

As a change to the usual flower heading pic there is a small selection of the 32 fabrics that have been delivered over the past two days. I am somewhat scratching my head as to how I am going to fit them all on the shelves as I know we have the plain linens yet to arrive!

SALE…SALE…..SALE……..

I mentioned last month we were having a slow sale, slowly adding things in as we sorted through the shop . Well, we now have plenty in the sale – organza (£3.35), plain poplins (£6), net(£1.50), dressmaking fabrics, a handful of quilting cottons, polycottons(£3.50) along with some haberdashery and a few patterns. Pop in soon and get yourself a bargain.

With regard to the net and organza, do let people know about this if they are involved in amateur dramatics or school productions as the prices are very keen.

School Holiday Classes for Children

The Easter holidays will soon be here even though it seems like Feb half term has only just finished. If you know any children that would love to come along and sew then do take a look on the website at the classes we have running in the holidays for them.

Scissor sharpening…

We often get asked about sharpening scissors and if there anywhere local for that service. I have had a customer recommendation for a business just along the A24 near the Buck Barn traffic lights. www.sharpedgeblades.co.uk If you use them do let me know your thoughts.

Necchi Overlockers

As you know, we sell Silver brand sewing machines and previously their overlockers too. Silver have now taken over the Necchi brand for importing into the UK so they are only supplying us with this brand of overlocker. It is very similar to the previous one and having tried this new one it is great for your everyday overlocking requirements.
